I don't set out to produce photographs about one particular subject or another. My photographs happen because I see a shot, feel it, and have to capture it. It could be the subject or it could be the light. Something grabs my eye and my heart. I capture what captures my heart. I capture beauty.
I am inspired by things in my daily life. I am constantly framing shots in my mind, often seeing life through an imaginary camera lens. It is common for me to be walking and suddenly stop or take a few steps back while I pull out my Olympus or even my iPhone to quickly capture something. I have done this for as long as I remember. The beauty or uniqueness simply pulls me in. I feel fortunate to be in the right place at the right time and right angle and of course the right light. This is magic.
I even remember the shots I didn’t get ... autumn leaves twirling in a spinning vortex in the wind on a street corner. Another just recently when I stopped in a park to take a photo of ducks sitting at the top of a waterfall and just a millisecond before I raised my camera the duck took a swanlike dive to the water below. I just missed the shot.
My goal is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully at the world around them and to discover beauty. I hope you will enjoy my web site seeing some of the beautiful things I have seen and captured over the years and you will feel the beauty also.
